Jason Tunks retired from competition due to injuries.

The 4 x World Championship finalist and 3 x Olympian, never fully recovered from a staph infection to his left ankle.
The infection took place in Oct. 2007. He threw 65m for 10 years in a row and won 16 Canadian championships.

List of injuries - 1998 Ankle surgery, 2001 slightly torn right pec(WC), 2002 lower back (fell in training in the rain. left CWG after 2 throws), 2003 ankle and knee surgery, 2004 hamstring tear (6 days bf olympics), 2005 lower back (from cleans at WC), 2006 hernia, left ankle surgery, 5 pieces of broken bone in right elbow, 2007 herniated disc in neck, 2008 staph infection left ankle (almost lost foot, 2 more ankle surgeries)
